The Key To Finding Your Passion

Live Your Passion
I’m very blessed to have the opportunity to live my passion and work from home doing what I love to do most of all…write. This means that I get to skip the morning rush.
But in the past, before work from home, there were days when I had to take my wife to work and get in the melee that is morning rush hour traffic. And on those days I’d noticed that the vast majority of people had this angry, frustrated, dazed, and confused look on their faces.
Almost as if some type of Monday morning trance had over taken them. At each stop light, I played observer, scanning the different cars to see how people were acting and even reacting. And what I observed made me feel a bit sad and even guilty in a small way because I’ve found a way to do what I love.
Not one of the people I noticed had a smile on their face or even looked like they were happy in any way at all. They all looked defeated and I’m sure from their body language that most of them felt defeated too.
Now, I could be wrong about some of them because I am making assumptions based on mere observation. Even if some of the people I observed were just okay with their circumstances, they didn’t show it at all.
I’m just guessing but I don’t think that most of these people were living their passion or anywhere close to even considering it. I’m not sure if many of them even realize they’re supposed to have passion. Most of us have become so ingrained in doing what we believe will garner us outside acceptance that we don’t bother to even consider what might make us happy.
There’s no time like the present to explore your passions so that you can do what you love. Believe it or not there are only 5 things that you need to do to begin following your passion. But even though there are only 5 steps each one of these steps is crucial to making your dreams come true.
5 Steps to Finding Your Passion
1. Get Quiet: This means find a way to silence all the self-talk that goes on in your head. We all tend to either look back or look forward when we think. Very few of us look at the moment we’re in. Meditation is a great way to silence the past and future self-talk and come into the moment.
2. Be Positive: Once you’ve found a way to get in the moment, be positive about your current situation no matter the circumstance. Thinking positive is as easy as thinking negative. Your negative thinking is just a habit developed over many years. To stop the habit of negative thinking challenge every negative thought you have. Say to yourself, “this negativity is just a perception. I challenge you to find the positive aspect of this situation.” Even if it’s the smallest thing, accept it and then build on it from there.
Also, be careful not to engage in negative talk with others even if they started the conversation. Do the very best you can to take the high road. Don’t be sanctimonious but do try to help them see that there are alternatives to being negative. If you can’t then do your best to limit the amount of time you have to spend with them.
3. Access Your Source: We all possess unlimited potential from the God-Essence that lies within every one of us. During your quiet time or meditation say to yourself several times, “I Am connected to Source and I feel the energy of Source as it flows through me, providing me with creativity and passion in all that I do.”
Now visualize yourself doing what you love. If you don’t know exactly what your passion is yet that’s okay. That’s the next step.
4. Finding Your Passion: During your quiet time or meditation, also say to yourself, “It is through this connection that I trust Source will provide me with the answer I seek to the question, what is my passion?” If you remain quiet and listen, the answer will come.
Keep in mind that it may be different from the answer you expected. But you will know if it’s the right answer for you based on your core values. It will simply feel right. Trust that it is.
5. Take Creative Action: Once you have the answer, it’s time to take creative action to make it happen. Taking creative action is different from toiling away at something. When taking creative action one of the first things you’ll want to do is write out your intention or goal. It’s better to do this in the form of an affirmation, that way you can start the goal already feeling empowered.
For example my goal simply is–to live the life I desire and deserve. That encompasses everything I choose to have in life. This is what I wrote, I allow myself to live the life I desire and deserve. By allowing, you’re letting go of resistance and opening yourself up to receive all the good that Source will bring your way.
Visualize Your Passion
You still need to take your quiet time or meditate daily. But now during this time after you say your affirming statement then say, “I Am connected to Source, and I feel the energy of Source as it flows through me, providing me with creativity and passion in all that I do.” Begin to visualize you living your passion.
Visualization will help you to see all the steps you’ll need to take so that you can reach your goal and begin living your passion. Also, start to look for opportunities to help you reach your goal. They will present themselves you just need to be open and allow it to happen.
Most of all take a leap of faith and begin to live your life the way you desire and deserve. If you do, you’ll certainly find that Monday morning commute much more pleasant. Wishing you purpose, passion, and prosperity in all you choose to do.
